![]() ![]() Trustees voted to approve the naming of the new park during a special meeting at the park. “He has brought millions of dollars into the area from the State budget, and he has drafted and passed legislation to benefit the residents of Jackson Township.” “The new park was named after Kirk Schuring because he has done so many things at the State level for the benefit Jackson Township and all of Stark County,” said Hawke. Now serving in the Ohio Senate, Schuring has been a member of Ohio's General Assembly in either the Senate or House of Representatives since 1993. In late October, trustees named the new 40-acre Jackson Township Park in honor of Kirk Schuring, who is a longtime resident and state legislator. ![]() The Tam O’Shanter park land development is making progress. The items in the two articles are just a few of the many more activities happening throughout the township. The second article will look at what’s happening with the new Meijer store, Costco coming to the area and the extension of Huckleberry Road. The first of two articles addresses the Kirk Schuring Park (former Tam O’Shanter golf course property) and the upgrades to North Park.
